What is a Democracy Defender?
Run for Something is actively recruiting pro-democracy individuals to run for election administration positions. Pro-democracy individuals that are running for election administration positions can apply to become Run for Something Democracy Defenders.
Democracy Defenders have pledged to ensure that local elections are accessible, fair, and equitable. Democracy Defenders receive specialty tools, training and resources that will guide them in running successful campaigns.
You do not have to be a registered Democrat to be a Democracy Defender. Democracy Defenders are not endorsed by Run for Something. Democracy Defenders who also seek Run for Something PAC’s endorsement must apply through a separate endorsement process.

APPLICATION
If you are running for an election administrative position in 2022 or 2023, apply to become an official Democracy Defender at the link below.

SCREENING
The Clerk Work team will screen your application on a rolling basis.

ACCEPTANCE
The Clerk Work Team will contact you about your acceptance. From there, you will have access to the resources provided to Democracy Defenders including specialty tools, training, and resources.
